Michael Smither is a painter who has devoted himself with a passionate intensity to life as an artist. Born in New Plymouth, Taranaki, 1939, Michael Smither has produced a vast and varied body of work. He paints what he sees and what he sees is everything; land, sea, clouds, rocks, lovers & children, domestic objects, religious symbols.
